Background

  • A North West England based NHS Trust had built up an extensive archive of Corporate and Clinical data over a 25 years period.

    Stored in hard copy over multiple locations, they were incurring significant costs predominantly made up storage and retrievals, and demanding requests for information with tight deadlines.

Solution

  • Flow AI utilised its fully equipped, dedicated high volume scanning bureau, to support the NHS Trust in undertaking a digitalisation of their archived patient care records.  The project involved:

    • Manage the logistics to collect and barcode circa 9000 archive boxes from multiple locations
    • Prepare, scan and QA in excess of 25 million scanned images
    • Provide a fully managed retrieval service during transition from hard to electronic copy
    Development of a Document Management System to host the scanned Information, and support retention policies
